Anna Parson at Robert Half is working with a Manufacturing/Distribution client seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with previous experience in SALES TAX. The role entails managing the company's sales tax obligations and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

As the Staff Accountant, you will:

• Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.

• Ensure the timely and accurate remittance of sales tax payments.

• Stay informed about changes in sales tax laws and regulations, and ensure the company adheres to them.

• Maintain accurate records of sales tax filings, payments, and communications with tax authorities.

• Handle sales tax inquiries and audits from state and local tax authorities.

• Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.

• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Special projects as need be.

Seeking a STAFF ACCOUNTANT with strong Excel skills and previous experience in Sales Tax and other tax filings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Sales Tax Returns preparation

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience with accounting software and systems

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
