Job Summary: The Evaluation Specialist is responsible for ensuring all children referred for evaluation receive high quality, clinically appropriate evaluations in accordance with state and county regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review all evaluation reports to ensure compliance with state and county regulations as well as clinical appropriateness.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the evaluation process in the CPSE programs.

  • Attend IEP meetings per week

  • Assist evaluation teams by troubleshooting issues that may arise during the evaluation process.

  • Conduct home and center-based evaluations/observations when necessary (certification permitting).

  • Establish and maintain a continuous supervision/training plan for all evaluators.

  • Complete quality assurance audits to ensure all evaluation reports meet state and country regulations.

  • Communicate frequently with various school districts, other referral sources and parents.

  • Follow up on missing reports to ensure all evaluations are submitted in a timely manner

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Individual must hold a valid certification as a School Psychologist, Special Education (Permanente or B-2) or master’s in social work to ensure clinical competence.

  • Successful experience working in a high-volume work environment where organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook a must.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Remain current regarding policy and regulations

Physical Requirements

  • · Must be able to travel to and from assigned work events including but not limited to driving a personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train.

  • · Occasionally ascends/descends stairs going to, while at, or leaving work location or facilities traveled to for work events.

  • · Occasionally moving and/or lifting objects at work weighing up to 20 pounds such as files or copy paper.

  • · Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time up to 90% of the workday working on a computer/electronic device.

  • · The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

  • · The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
