Henry Schein Director of Finance MSO in Melville, New York

This position is responsible for being a true business partner who serves as the primary financial authority for the Manufacturing Services Organization (MSO). The MSO is primarily comprised of manufacturing and services, which supplies various products and services to multiple commercial partners within the Henry Schein, Strategic Business Unit organization. The MSO supports an end-to-end supply chain infrastructure, continuing to expand capability, efficiency, and commercial support model.

The role is key to strategic planning and business assessment for new initiatives and expansion of capabilities of the MSO infrastructure the role helps establish and maintain cost accounting policies and controls; prepares and presents financial reports and Key Performance Indicators to various leaders that will improve operational performance; identifies areas of opportunity and efficiency and works with team to implement as appropriate. This role is a proactive one, focusing on providing value added solutions. The position will initially focus on the Savannah MSO, but over time will assume multi-facility responsibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key finance partner for MSO infrastructure.
  • Approves all key strategies and actions that have a financial impact on the MSO and key project actions that have an impact on the BU P&L.
  • Leads financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business analysis for MSO projects.
  • Helps improve financial results by holding team accountable to budget/forecast commitments including, sales and operating expenses.
  • Serves as the key financial liaison between Commercial partners and the HSI Corporate Finance Team.
  • Manages financial analysis to support decision-making on the business.
  • Designs, implements, and manages the execution of the cost accounting system for the MSO
  • Delivers timely and accurate product costing, production analysis and management reporting
  • Establishes, monitors and reviews various settings including labor, overhead and run rates
  • Sets, maintains and adjusts standard costs for products sourced both internally and with third party suppliers
  • May perform month end close responsibilities including journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards and other analysis
  • Ensures integrity of all related areas of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Leads monthly forecasting and annual budgeting effort for areas under responsibility
  • Provides ongoing analysis of cost of goods sold and gross profit vs. targets and prior year
  • Provides technical accounting and business support for areas under responsibility
  • Communicates risks and opportunities on timely basis to leadership team while proposing solutions to any costing or production challenge within the COE
  • Presents results to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Helps establish and maintain internal controls
  • Drives process improvements

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing financial accounting.
  • Project management, consultative skills and ability to manage a budget
  • Expert in multiple technical and/or business skills
  • Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 5 or more years of management experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $137,600-$216,720 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
