Job Title: Accountant (Construction Industry) A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in construction accounting and prior public accounting experience to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Controller in managing quarterly and annual financials, ensuring accurate month-end reconciliations, and assisting with complex project billing. Job Description: As an experienced Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financials of construction projects, ensuring job costing is properly allocated, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. You will also work directly with the billing team to assist with large, complex jobs and ensure all financials are accurate and up to date. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Controller with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. Perform monthly reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurate and up to date. Manage job costing processes, ensuring costs are allocated to the correct jobs and projects. Collaborate with the billing department on large and complex projects to ensure accurate invoicing. Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for ongoing and future projects. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards. Work with various teams to improve financial processes and efficiency. Utilize accounting software, including MQ (if applicable), to track and report financials. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. Must have experience in construction accounting, with a solid understanding of job costing, project-based accounting, and cost allocation. Prior public accounting experience is a plus. Experience with month-end and year-end close processes. Proficiency in accounting software (MQ software experience is a plus). Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
