Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical work and customer service, with at least 2 years of relevant experience. This role involves using hand tools, specialized small machinery (training provided), and performing plumbing/HVAC type work. The position requires local travel, and candidates will be provided with a company work vehicle that they can take home each night.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair hydraulic hoses and plumbing systems

• Service and maintain vehicle maintenance equipment

• Use hand tools and specialized machinery to complete tasks

• Provide excellent customer service to industrial and automotive/fleet repair clients

• Drive and maintain a company-provided truck

• Ensure all work is completed safely and to high standards

Essential Skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting

• Assembly and repair

• Service and installation

• Preventive maintenance

• Field service experience

• Proficiency with hand and power tools

• Understanding of blueprints, pneumatics, and schematics

• Computer literacy, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office

• Experience in maintenance or assembly, HVAC, and wiring

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Technical abilities are a plus

• Good communication skills in English (Spanish/Polish are a plus)

• Ability to learn and understand the products we sell and service

• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure, thread gauge, and digital calipers

• Ability to operate tools such as large cut-off saws, hydraulic hose press, and small hand tools

• Ability to input transactions in the computer and become familiar with our ERP system

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work well with others in the group

Work Environment

Eight to ten-hour workdays are required during the week, with additional hours and overtime as needed. This position may require occasional Saturday work, on a regular rotation basis. The job is mostly done offsite at customer facilities, leading to a wide range of working environments. The primary shift is from 7 am to 4:30 pm, but longer hours may be required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Melrose Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $56160.00
