Job Summary: Manages the Safety, Security, and Medical program at the facility. The position works closely with all people leaders on safety initiatives and is engaged in all activities associated with plant safety and security at the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages on-site Medcor staff and utilizes tools provided by Medcor to support effective data and feedback.

  • Manages the plant security program and manages effective communication with the 3rd party security team.

  • Manages the plant safety programs to ensure compliance with Hormel Foods Corporate Safety Policies and OSHA standards.

  • Coordinates the safety training of all plant team members.

  • Leads the Plant Safety Task Force Committee and ensures the plant is supported across all shifts.

  • Manages the safety program and takes the lead on workers compensation management.

  • Ensures the proper reporting and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses. (OSHA Logs).

  • Works closely with Maintenance group to ensure identified maintenance work orders related to safety are prioritized.

  • Creates and develops effective RCAs on all OSHA recordable injuries incorporating across functional teams.

  • Maintains positive company employee labor relations.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or 3 plus years in relevant industry experience.

  • A strong pattern of initiative and achievement.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including leadership and persuasion.

  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $76,700 - $107,000 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
