Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Reliability & Maintainability Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL . This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.

Specific roles and responsibilities of the Reliability & Maintainability Engineering Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the Reliability & Maintainability team who are responsible for performing engineering and analysis for dependability and supportability in the lifecycle management of total systems.

  • Broad understanding of the Integrated Product Support elements and how they support each phase of the DoD Major Capabilities Acquisition life-cycle.

  • Earned Value Management.

  • Defining and scheduling detailed work packages and managing task performance to cost and schedule.

  • Drive quantitative performance analyses and metrics to mitigate unacceptable program risk.

  • Enable continuous operational efficiency objectives are met to minimize cost and schedule

  • Ensure technical performance measure (TPM) objectives are achieved with return to green (RTG) plans, as required.

  • Responsible for both the functional and program management of a team, ensuring the proper people, processes, and tools are in place to meet program cost and schedule performance.

  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significant diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Preferred background in:

  • R&M Engineering

  • R&M allocations and predictions

  • Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

  • Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis

  • Mission reliability analysis

  • Familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

  • Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action

  • System (FRACAS)

  • Maintainability demonstrations

  • Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability

  • Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress

  • Screening (ESS)

  • Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and

  • suppliers

  • Supportable Low Observables (SLO) Support Efforts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

  • Experience and understanding of Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability.

  • Ability to travel to various site locations to participate and represent the Product Support IPT.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain special program access as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing).

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

  • Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).

  • Recent experience with Cameo, Magic Draw, or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect.

  • Strong working knowledge of RM&T analyses.

  • Experience with military aircraft maintenance, operations, and sustainment.

  • The candidate should be well organized, pay a great deal of attention to detail, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to present design concepts to an audience.

  • Able to collaborate in a team environment.

  • Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.

Salary Range: $111,700 - $167,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
