Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Melbourne, Florida

Description

Robert Half is seeking readily available candidates on contract to hire basis for a Full Charge Bookkeeper position in Melbourne, Florida. This role is set within the construction industry and requires a high level of organization and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing full-cycle accounting duties, overseeing payroll operations, maintaining accurate customer and contractor records, and resolving vendor inquiries.

Key responsibilities:

• Efficiently process customer credit applications and maintain accurate credit records

• Provide support for Accounts Payable, including vendor invoice and disbursement filing, and matching of A/P invoices

• Support Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices and credits, applying cash receipts, and assisting with the collection of past due balances

• Offer general accounting and administration support, assisting with G/L account reconciliation, month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects

• Correct transaction documents, potentially revising other documents or entries in addition to the original and initiating other actions as necessary

• Code documents that require a detailed understanding of expenditure codes and accounting codes

• Prepare statements and reports by utilizing a variety of sources

• Post financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, either manually or by electronic equipment

• Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts. Prepare correction documents as required

• Assist in budgetary control by monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers

• Contribute to special projects as assigned.

Requirements • Proficiency in Billing processes and management

• Solid understanding and experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated skills in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Knowledge of Account Coding procedures and standards

• Ability to accurately Enter Vendor Invoices into the system
