Job Description
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining (or enabling the creation and maintenance of) Cloud Services Development, Operations and Security processes, procedures and work instructions.
Essential:
5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
Experience developing or implementing documentation strategy and approaches
Experience across broad range of business applications, software, and technology
Experience documenting business processes
Experience working with cross-functional teams, remote across product lifecycle
Experience documenting cloud-based applications or services
Experience mentoring and coaching colleagues in developing technical writing skills
Experience with instructional design is a plus
Experience in Agile development approach and developing documentation in an Agile, Infrastructure-as-Service or Software-as-a-Service environment.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA
Experience using document or content management/collaboration tools
Creating and structuring content in a wiki environment
Developing training collateral and delivery of training sessions
Career Level - IC3
Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Managers; Subject Matter Experts; Operations teams; and other stakeholders to successfully deliver assigned documentation projects.
Independently write new documentation based on use cases, user stories, feature requirement documents, specifications, information from developers and product managers
Revise documentation to incorporate product updates and product enhancements
Provide input on process and documentation design and implementation
Proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency of language and style, as well as correct application of templates
Attend and actively contribute to development and scrum team meetings
Develop and update collateral to be used in onboarding and training new hires
