Hyatt Sales Manager- 9 month parental leave contract in MELBOURNE, Australia

Grand Hyatt Melbourne is seeking an industry star to join our 5 star hotel Sales team to cover Parental leave for 9 months.
This role focuses on sales conversion across the hotel’s MICE and Events markets. Upon joining this 5 star team, success will be evident through your strategic business approach; resulting in account portfolio growth and the ability to strengthen both our revenue opportunities with a long-term vision on ensuring Grand Hyatt Melbourne continues to increase its premium market position.
This exclusive position is a key contributor to the hotel’s success. Responsibilities include full ownership of MICE and Event accounts. The Sales Manager works with guests from initial enquiry all the way through to contracting, and works closely towards a successful handover to our Event Planning professionals. Beyond this, a key component of the Sales Manager’s role will entail regular travel opportunities ensuring relationships are strengthened and maintained. The role will report to the Associate Director of Sales but also works closely with all Hotel departments to ensure consistency in product and service delivery to our clients.
Qualifications:
A genuine and notable drive to think outside the box and provide a consultative Sales approach that is empathetic to our clients’ needs as well as meeting business objectives
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Hotel Sales role or similar ideally within a 5* environment
Demonstrated strength in business acumen and confidence in hotel /revenue management
Exceptional ability to build rapport and develop creative solutions to suit dynamic client needs.
Excellent problem solving abilities, administrative skills, and interpersonal skills, and the soft touch required for the MICE and Events market
Ability to build and establish key accounts; acquisition and development focused with weekly sales appointments.
Proficient in total market approach (MICE, Events, Leisure, Corporate)
Ability to travel interstate and throughout Victoria
Immaculate presentation and communication skills
A Degree/Diploma in Business / Hotel Management or equivalent
