Oracle QA Engineer in MELBOURNE, Australia

Job Description

As a QA engineer, you will be helping to deliver a highly reliable, scalable, and performant service for the Aconex platform. You will be working with cutting-edge technologies and develop deep understanding of various components and workflows. You will get involved in planning, refining requirements, and be closely working with other team members to perform various QA activities to deliver high quality software that meets or exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand, maintain, and improve the current testing procedure, sharing ownership with the teams in Australia and globally.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the business rules for existing and new functionalities.

  • Generate test ideas for validating the product under test and apply appropriate testing approaches.

  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of tools to assist in testing including tools for automated checks, data, and environment setup.

  • Raise issues for identified product failures and able to perform effective bug advocacy.

  • Identify risks for upcoming changes.

  • Contribute to enhanced usability of the product by identifying and documenting suggested improvements.

  • Able to identify issues at all stages of development.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience with web application, micro-services, and API testing.

  • Proven experience with exploratory testing.

  • Experience in working within an Agile development environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of observations.

  • Collaboration with different roles across product, User Experience, and engineering.

  • Experience with automated testing.

  • Programming and scripting experience.

  • Experience with SQL and database.

  • Knowledge of web application and API securities.

  • Able to think outside the box and adapt your testing approach to suit.

  • Willingness to proactively engage in continuous process improvement.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with different areas of the business and team members.

  • Familiar with Linux, Unix, or BSD.

  • Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes.
