RESPONSIBILITIES
You will make an impact in the following ways:
For Cummins-Meritor Australia this role will be responsible for operations across both the truck axle assembly plant and aftermarket parts distribution centre located in Sunshine and Derrimut respectively
Provides leadership to both the axle manufacturing plant and the national distribution warehouse operations teams
Manages compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and compliance across both businesses and especially ensure a safe and positive work environment for all employees
Seeking out and applying best practices to optimises work methods and processes including welding, assembly, painting, pick and pack, and warehouse materials management.
Provide improvement focus in operations driving results, creating and monitoring measures, providing motivation, and setting expectations in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Communicate with relevant stakeholders including customers, operations staff and support functions
Proactive to access Cummins global expertise and resources to achieve business plan objectives
Leads annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for manufacturing operations, cascades relevant performance targets to all relevant leads and drives for accountable performance
Manage, coach and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning
Oversees operations maintenance and facilities management
Develops a strong operations leadership culture and respectful environment in line with Cummins leadership behaviours and values
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
University or a College degree is required
Significant level of relevant work experience in a similar industry would be preferred
5 plus years of experience managing site operations including managerial, leadership, and budgetary experience is required.
Experience in lean manufacturing and/or Cummins Operational Excellence preferred
