Position Summary
To provide engineering support to a manufacturing environment, serving as the electronics expert and providing daily manufacturing support to ensure all production goals are met. He/she will also lead various projects pertaining to new equipment/process installations, cost reduction initiatives, quality improvements, lean manufacturing improvements and new product introductions.
Key Role Responsibilities
Support several manufacturing processes, ensuring equipment uptime, meeting production goals and high product quality
Develops work instructions, drawings, block diagram and/or circuit diagram, tests, modifications, assembly processes, fixtures, processes or specialized manufacturing and test equipment for existing or new products.
Prepares and maintains manufacturing documentation (BOMS’s, block diagram/circuit diagram and Work Instructions) for new and existing equipment in manufacturing.
To improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality and achieve on time delivery to meet production needs.
Responsible for new equipment introductions, process modifications and improvements
Interface with maintenance to troubleshoot equipment problems
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge.
2-4 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer or related discipline
Familiar with Lean Manufacturing
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers
Self-motivated and ability to motivate others
Strong analytical skills and business acumen
Solid problem solving abilities
Proficient use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
Experience with AutoCAD(2D CAD)/ Solidworks (3D CAD)modeling desirable
Lean manufacturing background and a strong focus on continuous improvement
