As a Field Technical Service Engineer, you will be the face of the Service and Repair team across our Medical product range for your customers in the North and West of Germany. This is a home-based position, with a candidate being based in the north of Germany, or willing to relocate to this area, and traveling to customers within a given geographical territory is required. The focus is pointed to Surgical Innovations and Cardiovascular devices. You will repair equipment breakdowns and perform technical tests.

A Day in the Life

  • Proactively engage and maintain regular contacts and relationships with sales and customers in your area and carry out with them commercial initiatives to support the business promoting company image, in agreement with the manager.

  • Execute all technical service repairs and maintenance on medical devices commercialized by Medtronic directly at customer site in line with the service delivery plan defined with the manager.

  • Provide remote and on-site support for new installations and assist in technical support for users.

  • Support future product integration by organizing or performing upgrades and/or configuration updates to the equipment installed base.

  • Review performance metrics for your territory and develop action plans to achieve goals.

  • Deliver Customer Net Promoter Score (NPS) targets to measure engagement and loyalty for your direct customers. Complete 100 % of closed loop process for Service & Repair.

  • Prove appropriate communications with internal and external customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.

  • Be 100% compliant with Quality Management procedures and training, complete all field service corrective actions within territory by due date.

  • Be an ambassador for the service and repair team with customers and a trusted partner of our sales teams. Demonstrate a deep customer intimacy.

  • Travel within country and internationally when required (mostly in case of trainings)

Must Haves

  • High school degree of electrical/mechanic or equivalent orientation (2-4 years of professional experience)

  • Full driving license required

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • German B2, English proficiency (reading is a must, conversation fluency is a nice to have)

  • Self-motivated and independent.

  • Problem-solving approach / Sense of Urgency

  • Good knowledge and handling of Microsoft Office tools

  • Familiar with the operating systems Windows and Linux (basic skills), installation of new applications and software is part of your daily business

  • Field Service experience and Technical ability

  • Ability to read and understand service manuals (electronic schematics, mechanical drawings)

Nice to Haves

  • Bachelor of Electrical engineering /Biomedical Engineering

  • 2 years or more of experience as Field Service Engineer for medical devices

  • Experience with ventilation, electrosurgical, cardiovascular or radiology equipment

  • Experience in working in the hospital setting and knowing the organization of the different departments

  • Relevant experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electronic and electro-mechanical equipment in a field service role where you are customer facing in their premises

  • Experience in an operating room environment is welcome
