Job Summary:

The Cement Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily operations in the cement production plant, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This role involves managing a team of production workers, monitoring equipment performance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of production workers, including operators, technicians, and maintenance staff.

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring optimal use of workforce and resources.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety procedures.

  • Production Management:

  • Oversee the entire cement production process, from raw material preparation to final product packaging.

  • Monitor production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met.

  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality control, maintenance) to optimize production schedules and workflows.

  • Quality Control:

  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Implement and monitor quality control processes, conducting regular inspections and audits.

  • Address and resolve any quality issues or production defects promptly.

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, addressing any hazards or non-compliance issues.

  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to cement production and workplace safety.

  • Maintenance and Equipment Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule regular preventive maintenance.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for equipment upgrades and process improvements.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate production reports, logs, and records.

  • Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Plant Manager/Production Manager.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline production processes.

    Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the cement or similar heavy industry.

  • Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in using production management software and tools.

  • Knowledge of quality control and safety standards in the cement industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Certifications: Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related areas is a plus.

    Working Conditions:

  • Primarily works in a production plant environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

  • Requires standing, walking, and moving around the plant for extended periods.

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
