PennLive is looking for someone who can bring a news story to life with a camera. In this role, youll do more than point and shoot with your lens. We need someone who can get creative to enhance our award-winning work.

As a whole, we have more than one million followers across our social media fleet already with room to grow that even more.

Content creation will include video clips tailored for TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, along with longer form videos for YouTube. Youll work a lot shooting live stream broadcasts, delivering live video of high school sports games and other events important to our audience.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our social media team, designing eye-catching social media cards, graphics and engaging posts to go along with their videos.

You may also be called upon to take some still photos as well.

To be a good fit for this opportunity, you will have:

• Degree in journalism or communications or equivalent education and work experience

• Ability to leverage relationships with sources to deliver content that differentiates the organization from competitors

• Proven experience building, maintaining and successfully engaging an active audience through various platforms and tools including web, mobile, social media, etc.

• Eagerness to work under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately

• Experience shooting and editing video, livestreaming events, taking photos and recording audio

• Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva), along with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.

• A solid understanding of writing, spelling, grammar, and journalistic ethics

• The ability and desire to remain abreast of industry advances and to proactively consider new methods of reaching audiences including engaging, interactive and optimized product offerings

This job requires reliable transportation to meet with sources or cover events. Your normal work hours may be on the early shift, nights or weekends, so you'll need to have the flexibility to cover what is needed.
