Reference #: 4680849 THE POSITION The PA Department of Transportation has a current vacancy in the Crawford County Maintenance Office for a Clerical Assistant 2 position. This position will provide moderately complex clerical duties involving typing and processing of documents and serves as the office receptionist.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, the Clerical Assistant 2 will serve as the receptionist by greeting customers in person and by telephone, directing inquiries to appropriate staff and maintaining the visitor logs. Enters customer complaints and concerns into the Customer Care Center System, assists customers with tort claims, prepares correspondence related to pothole and mailbox concerns, distributes special event applications, and driveway permit applications. The CA2 will also serve as the county contact for hauling permit payments and will code all purchasing card transactions in the Active Pay program prior to the monthly deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- One year or more of prior employment in the clerical field.
- One year or more of experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Two years or more of customer service background (answering incoming telephone calls, re-routing calls as a switchboard operator or speaking with customers and/or employees that come into the office).
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
