MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Systems Biology (The Lin Lab) in MDA-On-Site, United States

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Lin's lab in the Department of Systems Biology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Lin's laboratory focuses on utilizing systems approaches to identify key therapeutic vulnerabilities associated with deficiencies in DNA damage and stress responses, and develop novel personalized cancer therapies based on these deficiencies in cancer (McGrail, et al. Science Translational Medicine 2021; McGrail, et al. Cancer Cell 2020; Sun, et al. Cancer Cell 2018; Peng, et al. Nat. Comm. 2014).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The postdoc fellow in Lin's lab is expected to conduct cutting-edge research projects and develop his/her research ability to establish an independent career in academia or industry after completion of the training. The candidates will also have opportunities to develop highly impactful projects based on their research interests.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with experience in cancer biology, cancer immunology, and/or bioinformatics to work on two funded R01 grants focused on leveraging DNA damage response defects to enhance tumor immunogenicity and develop novel immune-mediated cancer therapies. All applicants should have strong communication skills and experience preparing scientific manuscripts. Successful experimentally focused postdocs will have experience with standard molecular biology techniques and in vivo mouse experiments. Successful computationally focused postdocs will be able to integrate diverse "-omics" datasets and patient clinical information, including experience with standard languages (e.g., Python, R).
