Reporting to the AVP, Communications and Culture, the Specialist, Organizational Development will play a key role in supporting and delivering expertise related to Talent Development initiatives. The position will curate, create, and continuously improve learning content using an array of creative approaches that inspire and engage teammates to drive operational excellence and foster career growth and development. To be successful, this individual must be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with leaders and stakeholders. They will employ strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, influencing skills, and strategic thinking to deliver complex learning programs and strategies.

This role requires you to be on site at our Corporate office in Mclean, Va.

Responsibilities

  • Research content, design presentations/supplemental materials, and facilitate the delivery of content/learning sessions and other initiatives related to the overall Talent Development strategy.

  • Help to develop and ensure ongoing professional development opportunities are available across all levels of the organization.

  • Support the development and facilitation of our Leadership Development programs.

  • Supporting the administration analysis of talent planning.

  • Work in collaboration with our Communications team to develop messaging and campaigns that highlight our talent initiatives.

  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to ensure learning objectives are met with the most appropriate and dynamic end products.

  • Work in partnership with our Training team to align training needs and methodology across the organization.

  • Make strategic recommendations for learning paths for multi-level and multi-functional needs.

  • Create and ensure participant and instructor manuals are developed and thorough in content, logically presented, and consistent with approved operating procedures.

  • Develops instruction guides as needed for online training courses.

  • Support and provide partnership in our New Hire Orientation (Day 1) program by co-facilitating orientation as well as the coordination of communications and other logistics.

  • Support department with employee-focused development, recognition, and communication programs and events.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning Management, Instructional Design, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate learning, talent, and/or organizational development.

  • 3 - 5 years of corporate experience in designing and implementing learning solutions including classroom, online/on-demand, social, and experiential learning for technical and soft skills development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other training delivery platforms.

  • Ability to analyze data from various reports, draw conclusions and make recommendations concerning the effectiveness of solutions.

  • Experience using Articulate, Storyline, video editing software, and/or similar e-learning tools.

  • Previous Instructional Design experience preferred.

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all management levels.
