Our Classified Engineering services team is looking for a lead engineer to lead and manage our unified communication services for video, voice, and collaboration. We are looking for strong technical leadership in collaboration technologies with a concentration in both Cisco and Microsoft Enterprise Video teleconferencing, and Voice systems solutions. This technology leader will be responsible for driving our video and voice services, ensuring proper maintenance of all relative systems and leading large technology transformation efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  • In conjunction with the Chief Engineer and senior engineering leaders, help to develop a 5-year roadmap of capabilities to meet the growing and changing communications needs for MITRE’s Classified work program.

  • Working closely with our partners and sponsors to migrate current systems into the next generation voice and video solutions that connect with our sponsors and the mobility needs of our users.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of our voice, video, and collaboration environments in order to maintain usability and compliance.

  • Align with other senior technology leaders to promote service offerings and support the overall IT work program.

  • Works with our sponsor to leverage cloud and integration with existing platforms.

  • Assist group leaders in creating and managing budgets within the service space.

  • Primary point of contact for interfacing for the escalation of issues within the voice and video service area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • 8570 Certifications Security+, CISSP

  • Minimum TS/SCI with ability to obtain a Poly.

  • Conference, VTC and auditorium room design engineering, for classified spaces.

  • This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of voice, video, and data collaboration technologies, specifically with Cisco and Microsoft video and voice platforms.

  • Conference, VTC and auditorium room design engineering, for classified spaces.

  • VTC bridging technologies for both on-prem and cloud.

  • Strong network technology experience including Data Center and application layer networking.

  • Strong security and system hardening skills to meet STIG requirements.

  • Troubleshooting skills to resolve performance related problems for rich media applications.

  • Project management skills including agile development techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Self-organized and able to lead multiple service areas.

  • TS/SCI clearance & CI Poly

  • Avixa CTS Certification

  • Knowledge of automation techniques for deployment of systems and services with tools such as Chef, Ansible, PowerShell and the Atlassian suite of tools.

  • Cloud platform FedRamp experience including Azure and AWS.
