Office of the Director of National Intelligence Data Analyst in McLean, Virginia

Summary The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads the nation's effort to protect the United States from terrorism by integrating, analyzing and sharing information to drive whole-of-government action and achieve our national CT objectives. Responsibilities Major Duties and Responsibilities (MDRs): Create and communicate partner engagement data for planning and decision making. Use data analytics and visualization to inform how NCTC are using resources to invest in partnerships and outreach activities across the Intelligence Community and other governmental and non-governmental partners. Create qualitative and quantitative metrics to visualize the range of and measure the impact of partnership and outreach activities. Build and manage dashboards and analytics: Manage databases and systems, and build new data repositories as necessary. Create and Present Briefings: Oversee the development of analytic briefings internally and externally; manage the process of collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information. Conceive, prepare and communication an extensive range of strategic, high complex graphics, computational models/tools, or written/oral assessments on significant issues for the most senior internal and external customers (e.g. policymakers, IC components, Agency executives); Other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a current permanent ODNI employee. OR Must be a current permanent Federal employee Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. No Temporary Promotion Opportunity The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of appropriate analytic methods and methodological tools in one or more of the following areas: Data Analysis, Applied Mathematics (e.g., probability and statistics, formal modeling, computational social sciences); Computer Programming (e.g., programming languages, math/statistics packages, computer science, machine learning, scientific computing); and Visualization tools (Tableau, etc.) Thorough knowledge of research designs. Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive computer software applications, as needed. Ability to leverage multiple data management tools to organize relevant information and make decisions. Ability to translate complex, technical findings into an easily understood narrative (i.e., tell story with data). Analytical and critical thinking skills, including superior ability to think strategically. Ability to multitask and change focus quickly as demands change. Ability to evaluate data drawing pertinent inferences from data trend analysis, and interpretation of such inferences. Must have at least three years of data analytics experience. Education Bachelor's Degree. Additional Information Job Interview Travel: Candidates from outside the Washington, D.C. area may be selected for a telephone, teleconference, or in-person interview. Salary Determination: A current Federal Government employee, selected for a detail, will be assigned to the position at their current grade and salary.
