  • This requisition has been posted for the purpose of pipelining building relationships with qualified candidates in order to potentially hire them into future openings within Guidehouse's Cyber team.

  • The Cyber team is currently proactively gathering and engaging candidates of interest and will then be able to match them with positions that become available in the future.

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to support projects to address some of the most significant challenges that our federal government and commercial clients face. The projects you will support will provide you the opportunity to develop your ability to adapt in fast paced environments and flex your entrepreneurial spirit to develop solutions independently or with a team of highly skilled professionals.

You will have the opportunity to interact with the clients' senior management and to enhance your skills in the areas of client service, technical competency, and business development, especially on issues related to US national security. Day-to-day, you’ll support client deliverables, often concerning China, to include internal and client deliverables and presentations, day-to-day project logistics, and special projects as the need arises.

Depending on your areas of work, experiences and studies, and interests, you will have the opportunity to serve clients regarding China, in cybersecurity and cyber threat intelligence, open-source Intelligence (OSINT), supply chain risk management, anti-money laundering and fraud, financial investigations, technology and solutions innovation, and much more.

What You Will Need :

  • A bachelor’s degree.

  • A minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Able and willing to work in Guidehouse’s Arlington, VA or Tysons Corner, VA office up to three days per week and/or on client site as needed.

  • An ACTIVE AND CURRENT SECRET level or higher federal security clearance:

  • You may be required to submit an application for a post-offer clearance upgrade and/or for client vetting/approval.

  • Minimum of intermediate-level Mandarin in reading, researching, and comprehension.

  • Strong desire to expand knowledge and skills in the areas of knowledge about China, Cybersecurity, Cyber Threat Intelligence, OSINT, Supply Chain Risk Management, Deep and Dark Web, Digital Research & Analysis, Traditional & Social Media Analysis, and more.

  • A high-quality combination of some interests, skills, and experiences related to:

  • Open-source data sets (e.g., domestic and foreign corporate registries, shell companies, sanctions lists),

  • Open-source tools/software (e.g., big data analytics, SCRM tools, GIS software),

  • Social media platforms and aggregators (e.g., Weibo, WeChat, VK, Facebook, Twitter, Gab, Sprout, Brandwatch) for analysis purposes,

  • Syndicated or API-accessed databases (e.g., S&P, Bloomberg Law),

  • Coding languages (e.g., R, Python),

  • Visualization software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau),

  • Other technology (e.g., natural language processing, web-scraping techniques),

  • Cyber threat intelligence,

  • Deep & Dark Web, encrypted apps (e.g., TOR, Telegram),

  • Specialized niche skills/knowledge (e.g., software billing of materials, counterfeit parts).

  • Ability to work in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Heightened attention to detail, and the ability to create and edit technical and non-technical written work products and graphical presentations.

  • Ability to view problems from multiple angles and apply a variety of solutions to solving them.

  • Ability to participate in client-facing discussions and meetings.

  • Ability to synthesize information quickly and learn new skills.

  • Desire to support public sector clients with a mission in National and Homeland Security (e.g., intelligence, law enforcement), Cybersecurity, Supply Chain Risk Management, and similar areas.

  • Passion about reinvesting in the company you work for and representing the company’s brand.

  • Support the team by being proactive, energetic, and carrying out day-to-day operational tasks utilizing specialized applications, tools, and platforms.

  • Staying abreast of geopolitical threats, risks, and vulnerabilities and be able to incorporate learnings and findings for clients and to translate them into concrete action recommendations and hardcore solutions.

  • Remain aware of developments, security controls and practices, tactics, techniques and procedures, innovation and emerging capabilities, as well as new and evolving threats.

  • Perform cross-functional activities, such as data collection and analysis, and develop custom reports, files, and more for clients and for Guidehouse.

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • A master's degree.

  • Professional-level Mandarin in reading, research, and comprehension, intermediate-level in speaking.

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles and the phases of project management (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Closure).

  • Experience planning and executing projects of varying degrees of complexity, preferably projects that involve serving a client and engaging directly with the client throughout project performance.
