Department Summary:

The Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain department (N154) within the Operations in Contested Environment Division (N150), aims to holistically address Logistics and Supply Chain challenges that face our nation, with a focus on the Department of Defense. We accomplish our mission by preparing for and sustaining power projection while under a persistent, multi-domain attack in contested environments through dynamic basing, resupply, and maintenance across 3 focus areas:

  • Architect solutions for robust, secure, resilient logistics networks

  • Increase situational awareness to make informed logistics decisions that support US military objectives

  • Investigate and re-envision prepositioning and resupply options in the INDOPACIFIC

  • Recommend mitigations for signatures vulnerabilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

The N154 Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain Department is seeking a Contested Logistics (CL) Lead with a strong background in leading teams to accomplish technical goals. Specifically, the CL Lead will:

  • Lead small to medium sized teams to deliver Contested Logistics solutions across the Department of Defense

  • Provide logistical expertise during the development of prototypes and system models to create multi-service support to global, regional and base locations during constrained and contested operations

  • Conduct in-depth logistics analysis of operational plans to enable efficient and effective resourcing of Service and Combatant Command mission requirements

  • Serve as logistics subject matter expert during system concept development, requirements engineering, system architecture development, and system implementation

  • Conduct in-depth logistics analysis to identify gaps and potential solutions to current national resourcing challenges

  • Present technical recommendations to government sponsors and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience

  • Secret level security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

  • Demonstrated joint military experience

  • Proven ability to lead, nurture, and develop technical talent and a technical team of teams.

  • Possess the ability to define complex projects or programs.

  • Proven ability to offer innovative solutions to complex logistics challenges

  • Leadership Presence : Communicates in a compelling fashion across the organization (oral and written); inspires trust through vision for the technical program and the work environment they create; demonstrates leadership that MITRE people want to follow.

  • Familiarity with the DoD organization and missions, the role of the Joint Staff, combatant commands, and Military Service components, operational environments, threats, and complexities .

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI level security clearance
