Robert Half Cloud Database Administrator in Mclean, Virginia

Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Cloud Database Administrator to join their IT team. This role is pivotal in the daily administration and maintenance of our database systems, with a primary focus on a major AWS Redshift database project in the cloud. The successful candidate will also support other significant Redshift systems, ensuring efficient and reliable database operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations including installations, upgrades, backups, and configurations of database systems.

  • Concentrate on AWS Redshift projects, maintaining and optimizing performance.

  • Collaborate with IT managers and other relevant stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and evaluate the capability of the database systems.

  • Engage in database design and programming tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to improve and maintain database infrastructure.

  • Ensure database security and integrity.

    Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing big data databases and AWS cloud services.

  • Strong understanding of database administration, design, and programming using IaC principles.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • At least five years of relevant experience in database administration.
