Summary:  Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance services on equipment, machinery, and building structure & property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment/machinery, during production and performs scheduled maintenance during machine/equipment service.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, carpentry, pipe fitting, painting and welding duties as assigned and within skill level
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Knowledge of methods, materials, power/hand tools and techniques used in equipment & building repair and new construction
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs
• Performs manual labor as required

• Operate Fork Lift as needed

   

Job Requirements:  Knowledge and ability to; interpret blueprints and schematics; effectively use hand and power tools; diagnose machinery/equipment breakdown problems and recommend solutions, perform repairs, and resolve issues in expedient manner; follow directions, calculate dimensions, understand measurements and angles and apply same in completing assignments in support of production.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those of a distribution center and warehouse environment. The work area climate is contingent on outside weather conditions and can fluctuate based on these same conditions.  This un-controlled climate is where the millwright spends majority of time perform the duties of the job. Workers are advised to dress in layers to accommodate weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Safety equipment is available such as earplugs, dust masks, work belts, and First-Aid. Other items may be purchased to make reasonable accommodations.

Normal shift is eight hours, i.e., 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm with ten-minute paid break in the morning and 20-minute paid lunch in a climate controlled room.  Afternoon shift works 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with break and lunch.  Overtime hours and weekend work may be scheduled and voluntary overtime work may be available.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 85 pounds. The employee must be able to maintain their balance, as some of the essential job functions take place in hard to reach places. Additionally, the employee must be able to climb ladders/stairs and work in higher elevations as needed.
