Trane Technologies Maintenance Apprentice in McGregor, Texas

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Apprentice will work under more senior maintenance employee to gain skills and knowledge in a manufacturing environment. This is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities:

§ Performs Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes.

§ Recognizes potential safety risks and escalates appropriately to ensure safety.

§ Works as a team to complete work in compliance with established standards, including maintenance process conformance and response time.

§ Must use CMMS to document work performed and completion.

§ Must be able to use forklift, scissor lift, and lift and other PIV’s.

§ Must have good organizational skills.

§ Actively develops new skills and demonstrates growth in the context of a skills matrix.

§ Accepts training and coaching from leadership.

§ Follows environmentally appropriate workplace maintenance habits, including 5S and LEAN.

§ Recognizes environmental risks in processes and resolves with corrective actions or escalates to ensure environmental stewardship within the facility.

§ Follows instructions set by more senior maintenance technicians.

§ Willing to work overtime including weekends and off shifts when needed.

§ Work with various mechanical power and hand tools.

§ Handle different types of non-hazardous chemicals like oils, glues, cleaners, aerosols.

§ Work on the facility when needed (plumbing, carpentry, drywall, etc.).

Qualifications:

§ High School Diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required.

§ Currently assigned at Trane in McGregor through Spherion

§ Technical Training preferred.

§ Ability to operate a personal computer, Microsoft Office experience preferred.

§ Must possess a valid driver’s license; CDL and/or forklift certifications helpful.

§ Candidate must work in all functions of the maintenance department if needed.

§ Self-motivated, Willingness to change, flex and learn

§ Possess the traits of Teamwork, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Customer Focus and Pride in workmanship.

§ Mechanical Aptitude

Physical Requirements:

§ Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone. Mobility within the work facility and around machinery.

§ Mobility within the work facility

§ Ability to stand/walk 8-12 hours

§ Ability to bend, lift, reach and turn throughout the shift

§ Ability to lift, move, and/or pull 50+lbs repeatably throughout the shift

§ Ability to climb stairs, use forklift or other PIVs

§ Ability to work with tools and hands
