Description:

The Regional Manager of Perioperative Business Services provides leadership, direction, and development of the perioperative business office. The incumbent develops and supports effective, comprehensive information management critical to analytical and business support for all surgical services managers, coordinators and other departments as required. The Regional Manager of Perioperative Business Services also directs and coordinates scheduling, management information systems and billing functions. The Perioperative Business Manager organizes services to achieve organizational goals and is responsible for achieving a level of shared operational excellence among physicians and managers by bringing together the resources necessary to continuously improve the delivery of services consistent with Loyola University Health System's standards for patient care, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will demonstrate behaviors consistent with continuous quality improvement and customer service in all leadership and management activities. Areas of responsibility include OR scheduling function, surgeon block information, all OR information management, revenue and expense monitoring, charge capture compliance, OR management reporting, supporting new and existing case cost and review analysis, new procedure cost and review analysis.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate perioperative scheduling, management information systems, billing functions, including capital acquisition and facility renovations.

  • Develop and maintain surgeon block scheduling, accurate management and information system support.

  • Ensures customer satisfaction of patients and surgeons.

  • Provides necessary information ensure optimization of resources.

  • Develops and provides effective and comprehensive management information for all perioperative services managers and coordinators.

  • Develops and meets departmental budgets according to establishedprocedures.

  • Ensures effective and efficient utilization of resources.

  • Provides budget information and decision support for the OR ExecutiveCommittee.

  • Directs the development of policies, procedures, and staffing patterns essential to the day-to-day operation of all departments.

  • Maintains structures that facilitate safe, effective and patient-focused operations.

  • Assures the effective, and efficient, daily operation and long-term effectiveness of all areas reporting to position.

  • Conducts annual reviews, makes revisions to meet current trends and organizational needs.

  • Oversees and maintains accountability for compliance with all regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission, Illinois Department of Public Health, CMMS, Illinois Hospital Licensing requirements as well as maintaining quality improvement programs for all departments.

  • Collaborate closely with supply chain and vendors to support the Value Analysis Committee.

  • Support and implement efforts for standardization of supplies and equipment utilized in the perioperative settings.

  • Develop and maintain initiatives directly impacting cost efficiencies in Surgical Services.

  • Remains current in trends, major advances, and business strategies within the perioperative field. Establishes effective networks with colleagues and appropriate others inside and outside the health system.

  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by contributing to and coordinating with other perioperative managers.

  • Utilizes conflict resolution skills to promote a positive working environment, and positive morale among employees.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business, management, or other related field.

  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience; 6-10 years preferred.

  • Managerial Experience: 3-5 years

Preferred:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt

  • Six Sigma Green Belt

  • Other: EPIC Optime certification
