Hours:

  • Day Shift: Full-Time (1.0) FTE 40 hours per week

  • M-F: 6:30am – 2:30pm (varied start times)

  • Rotating Saturdays: 7:00am – 2:30pm (1 or 2 Saturdays every 6 weeks); Off during the week when required to work Saturdays

  • Location: Main Campus (Maywood, IL), Burr Ridge as needed

About the Job

In this role, the Mammo Technologist will perform mammography in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and/or treatment of medical disorders; performs related clerical and serviced duties. Provides screening and Diagnostic breast exams and breast procedures to include US guided and Stereotactic biopsies, needle loc and clip placement.

What you'll do

  • Assesses plans, provides intervention, and evaluates care for each patient based on protocol to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.

  • Prepares equipment and supplies necessary for radiographic procedures and performs daily tasks to ensure patient safety. Maintains current licensure and educational points to ensure expansion of job knowledge.

  • Performs in accordance to and maintain written records of all QA testing required by ACR and MQSA. Maintains communication with radiology personnel, patients, and all Medical Center staff to ensure cooperation.

  • Produces high quality images while maintaining a reject rate of less than 10%. Adheres to six-point film critique and procedures protocols at all times. Accurately completes images within proper time parameters.

  • Correctly identifies films with patient identification and proper markers.

Here is what you'll need

Required:

  • Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education

  • Specific Degree(s): Mammography, Radiologic Technology

  • 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) American Heart Association (AHA) only

  • Registered Radiographic Technologist

  • Registered Radiographic Technologist (Mammography)

Preferred

  • Other: All mammography technologists are required to maintain at least 15 category 1 CEU's direct mammography continuing education hours within a 36-month period.

  • Must be able to perform 200 exams within a 24-month period. 40 hours of training in mammography.

  • 25 mammography exams under direct supervision of MQSA-qualified individual.
