Work Schedule:

  • Midnight shift; Part-Time

  • Monday- Friday w rotating weekends and holidays among team

  • 11:00pm-7:30am

  • Guaranteed 40 hours per every 2 weeks

  • Will be training on day shift; hours 7am-330pm. Length of training will be based on the individual. Plan on training for approx. 6 weeks.

About the Job

In this role, the Lab Support Service Tech will support the delivery of patient care through the receipt, processing, and routing of specimens. Provides customer friendly service to any person requesting supplies or information by phone, computer or in person.

What you'll do

  • Performs assigned duties from the pre-analytical to post-analytical phases of testing according to standard operating procedures. Receives and evaluates all specimens to ensure positive identification and appropriateness of sample. Works with fellow team members to properly triage and efficiently move samples through all phases of testing.

Here's what you'll''ll need

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Prior knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen processing.

Preferred:

  • One year of, clinical, or public health laboratory experience OR

  • Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology

  • OR

  • Equivalent education/experience.

Experience/Skills

Required:

  • Strong aptitude for pattern recognition is required.

  • Must be able to type at least 50 words-per-minute.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
