Cisco Optical Reliability Engineer in Maynard, Massachusetts

Your Impact

  • The Reliability Test Engineer is responsible for driving the qualification of optical transceiver products by defining the reliability requirements and test conditions based on industry standards on new products.

  • Schedule and implement the reliability and qualification tests of optical components and subsystems used in optical communications.

  • Maintain the Reliability of lab infrastructure and test equipment, verify the correct execution of the tests per relevant standards, and maintain accurate logs for all testing performed.

  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, and an external test house to conduct reliability tests, collect test results and be closely involved in data and failure analyses.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (mechanical, electrical, or optical engineering preferred) with 4 years of related experience or Master's with 2 years of experience.

  • Experience working in a lab environment with either electrical or optical test equipment, thermal chambers, or semiconductor testing

  • Experience in either of those: JMP, Excel, Python, or Labview user

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in optical transceivers and/or semiconductors

  • Experience in Telcordia and/or IEEE/ANSI qualification standards for optical devices and semiconductor assemblies

  • Experience working with external labs for qualification testing

  • Experience in test, quality, and reliability engineering for optical communications components and systems
