Refrigeration HVAC Technician II

A caregiver in this position works 7:00AM - 3:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and other equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid state microprocessors and system alarms.

  • Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • State of Ohio EPA approved certificate for either Type I and Type II or Universal Refrigerant Systems Service.

  • Three years of experience as a commercial/residential air conditioning refrigeration technician. Military experience as a Machinists Mate, Utilitiesman, Utilities Equipment Repairer or a similar role will be considered. Formal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and/or air handling may substitute up to one year of experience.

  • Ability to read electric schematic diagrams.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Completion of a formal HVAC/Refrigeration training program.

  • Work experience in a hospital setting.
