Job Purpose Reporting to the Director for MP&L, LVD, this position plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing packaging solutions. Your focus will be on ensuring product protection, cost improvements, ergonomics, and sustainability. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Creates Project Plans and organizes resources to ensure project milestones are met within expectations of timeline, quality, and budget. * Creation of a standardized packaging catalogue * Utilize PFEP to optimize lineside material presentation along with warehouse layouts through packaging projects * Remains current on packaging innovations throughout the industry and proliferates leading technologies within the Company. * Consults with vendors in the development of packaging for components and materials. * Establishes supplier quality standards and supports supplier audits as needed. * Develops and executes test methods, validations, and protocols for packaging related developments and projects. * Designs product packaging using ISO and ASTM guidelines for integrity and transportation robustness. * Justifies and prepares capital expenditures for new packaging processes and equipment. * Supports manufacturing issues, CAPA's, SCARS and audits. * Fosters a high level of creativity and independence in the design and development of new or improved packaging processes, systems, prototypes and projects. * Works with key functions to design packaging using appropriate structure analyses, test methods, design methodologies, feasibility justification, and business case processes. * Aid in the development and design of packaging for the attractive, economical and safe shipping of products under varying conditions of climate, environment, and differing modes of transportation. * Responsible for current packaging procedures and the continued development of packaging procedures within Dana Light Vehicle Division * Support environmental initiative for Dana LV plants to be "cardboard free" * Investigate opportunities to leverage multiple plant and supplier spend with packaging suppliers to get improved pricing with select "preferred" vendors. * Support new business quotation efforts to ensure that packaging cost is properly accounted for, including participation in TRA process for all part sourcing. * Support plant safety initiatives through packaging modifications targeting improvement of handling and ergonomics for Dana material handlers and line operators. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering * 3+ years experience in packaging or manufacturing engineering, structured problem solving, use of statistical tools * Automotive industry is a plus * Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills * Strong organizational and follow-up skills; competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making; and shows aggressiveness when completing assignments and other responsibilities * Must be willing to travel on occasion and work non-normal business hours * Familiar with CAPA, SCAR, and audit procedures * Training and experience in Lean and Six Sigma, or equivalent * Experience in Design for Manufacturing, FMEA, DOE, and Validations * Familiar with CAD software Unsolicited Resumes from Third-Party Recruiters Please note that as per Dana policy, we do not accept unsolicited resumes fr
