Description Barnes Force and Motion Control has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a Assistant Controller in our location in Maumee, OH. The ideal candidate will support the financial leader of the division and support operational efficiencies to drive financial health and profitability for the whole organization. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting required financial reporting and supporting the business in compliance matters. As a collaborative member of the finance leadership team (FLT), this role will partner with the division operations to ensure all deadlines are met and in compliance of corporate policies and procedures. Core Responsibilities: Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses. Assist controller in the daily processing of all General Accounting activities for the division. Assist controller in developing and executing P&L and B/S forecasts, co-own AR, AP, inventory and Fixed Assets management and strategy. Reinforces integrity and ensures compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements through appropriate internal controls. Formulate data to measure actual financial performance of the division, including monthly reports to assist the FMC Finance organization on various analytical and reporting tasks. Supports upstream daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for Division management, ensuring accurate and timely results; and, including monthly reports to assist the FMC Finance organization on various analytical and reporting tasks. Work directly with division leadership to identify/promote continuous improvement and Lean initiatives in operations, asset management and productivity programs to maximize operating efficiencies and profitability. Work closely with the Segment and Corporate Finance to ensure that there is adequate documentation, process flows and support for SOX 404 compliance. Leverages broad-based understanding of key business fundamentals to drive financial health, improve operating efficiencies and profitability. Seeks out and seizes opportunities for cost reduction through process, policy, and practice initiatives. Proactively engaged in partnering with Shared Services around Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. Continuous partnership with the Data Analytics and IT teams during all system enhancements and integrations. Other duties/ projects as assigned. Acts in accordance with Barnes code of business ethics and conduct. Qualifications: Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience within in a mid-to-large size, publicly held, manufacturing company (or division thereof); experience at a "Big 4" or "Tier 2" accounting firm preferred. Excellent working knowledge of US GAAP and working in a SOX environment is required. Continuous improvement and customer-service orientation: data-driven, analytical approach to problem solving, leading to sound decisions, systematic improvements, and sustainable results. Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; proficient in financial reporting/consolidation systems Highest degree of integrity and ethical behavior is essential. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface with all levels. Experience with implementing, enhancing, and building templates for financial consolidation and business intelligence systems/. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting/Finance required, MBA preferred. Accreditation in the field of accounting (CPA, CMA, or CIA) preferred.
