Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team, specializing in heavy industrial assembly and custom projects within the railroad industry. Your role will involve working with large equipment used to pull and replace tracks. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in maintenance, heavy industrial assembly, and custom manufacturing projects.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, repair, and full build of railroad machines and equipment.
Strip paint, cut steel parts, and weld components to modify equipment for specific needs.
Work with hydraulics, including repairing hydraulic hoses.
Utilize blueprints and piping schematics daily for project execution.
Employ power tools and hand tools for mechanical assembly and repairs.
Engage in custom repair tasks and ensure machinery is in optimal working condition.
Essential Skills
Experience with mechanical assembly and maintenance repair.
Proficiency in welding and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Experience using power tools and hand tools.
Knowledge of pneumatics is preferred.
Enjoys working with hands and is comfortable getting dirty.
Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.

Work Environment
Friendly and team-oriented atmosphere.
1st shift schedule: 6 AM to 4:30 PM.
Overtime usually available and occasionally required, with adequate notice provided.
Potential Saturday shifts from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Contract-to-hire position with a 140-day contract period.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
