Erickson Living Staff Development Manager in Matthews, North Carolina

SDM position :

We are hiring a Staff Development Manager to lead effective strategies for training, development and retention of staff for the Dining Services Department. This position works with current staff to mentor and monitor professional skills development. With a focus on development, training and retention of the Dining Services Department, this is your chance to focus on coaching and guiding our student servers who are just entering the workforce. This position will also partner with recruitment to ensure strong server pipelines.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience starting at $63,000 annually

How you will make an impact:

  • Work hand in hand with our dining partners, focused on the success and guidance of our student servers

  • Coordinate and facilitate dining new hires employee orientation.

  • Develop, coordinate and present dining skills training for service and sanitation.

  • Collaborate with community recruiter, support outreach efforts to source qualified applicants.

  • Oversee and ensures efficient hiring and onboarding process off all dining staff in conjunction with HR department.

  • Work with managers to ensure the ongoing development of all dining staff by reviewing performance reviews, reviewing coaching/counseling forms and discussing performance with supervisory staff.

  • Prepares all staff for promotional and growth opportunities by supporting and reviewing individual development plans.

  • Partner with community recruiters to attends local and regional job fairs to source qualified applicants.Support and attend hiring events to ensure a candidate pipeline.

  • Collaborate with recruiter to ensure efficient hiring and onboarding process of all dining hourly staff in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.

  • Support dining venue service hours as a floor manager to support operations and lead and mentor students.

What you will need:

  • Proven experience managing and motivating in a customer service environment.

  • The desire and drive to make an impact!

  • Related experience in food service, an educational food service management program, or experience in recruitment, staff development and training with an ability to learn food service.

  • Weekend/Holiday availability

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
