Req# 29338 Aultman Health Foundation, Massillon, OH AULTMAN MEDICAL GROUP INC Aultman Health Foundation Full Time, Day Shift, 8:00am-4:30pm Up to a $10,000 LPN SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE WITH A 1-YEAR COMMITMENT JOB TITLE: General Surgery LPN PURPOSE OF POSITION The primary purpose is to provide outpatient clinical support to the Licensed Provider (LP), provide patient and family education, and work cooperatively with the health care team and maintain standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Receive phone calls and messages and returns calls to patients and/or family in a timely manner. 2. Check LP's schedules frequently for any add-ons or updates. 3. Review the patient's medical record prior to visit to verify completeness, including having test results available. 4. Room patients in a timely fashion; verify patient identity and compare with chart. Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and current accurate list of medications and pertinent information needed for the LP to assess the patient. 5. May receive verbal and telephone orders from LP. 6. Propose prescription refills for approval by LP. 7. Accurately arrange for various hospital procedures and tests to be scheduled. This includes precertification, authorizations, physician orders, communicating with the patient, and adding to the LP's schedule if indicated. 8. Schedule urgent and non-urgent appointments. 9. Accurately completes medical forms and correctly completes and routes billing information to appropriate staff. (Example disability forms etc.) 10. Copy and release medical records according to policy. 11. Document in the medical record accurately and timely. 12. Educate patient/family for ordered testing and medications as indicated. 13. Notify LP promptly of abnormal lab results, testing results or critical results. 14. Restock and clean exam rooms after use. 15. Maintain confidentiality of information obtained in the course of performing duties. 16. Accurately scribe for providers as directed. 17. Perform instrument processing/sterilization as indicated. EDUCATION/JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Graduate of an approved nursing school of nursing. 2. Current LPN license 3. Must have current up-to-date CPR training. 4. Must adhere to office policy of yearly TB testing, OSHA and HIPAA training. 5. Evidence of good health as evidence of infrequent absenteeism. 6. Ability to meet and interact with the public in a mature, courteous and professional manner. 7. Effective interpersonal communication skills. 8. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under conditions of high stress. 9. Must be able to work as a team and independently. 10. Positive, friendly, and compassionate. 11. Must poses the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Normally works 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. 2. May require paid overtime before or after normal working hours. 3. Subject to frequent interruptions during performance of duties. 4. Expected to adhere to office policy and procedures. 5. Subject to blood and body fluid exposure. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS PURPOSE: To identify specific functions job requirements and work environment factors that could affect job performance. O = Occasionally = 0- 33% of the work shift or 0- 32 repetitions. F = Frequently = 34-66% of the work shift or 32-200+ repetitions. C = Constantly = 67-100% of the work shift or 200+ repetitions. N = Not essential job requirement.
