Hi-Tek Manufacturing is searching for experienced Tool Makers for 2nd shift who wish to continue his or her career as a certified Tool Maker at an industry recognized machining manufacturing company in the Aerospace / Gas Turbine industry. [Essential Duties and Tasks]{.underline}
Reporting to the Toolroom Supervisor, the Tool Maker specializes in the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of machine shop dies, jigs, fixtures, and gages. Operates various machine tools and performs other highly skilled work, such as laying out, fitting, and assembling parts. May involve considerable development work, highly skilled fitting, and adjusting. Occasionally construct tools where no design is available on an as-needed basis. Work is usually entirely independent of others.
Analyzes and interprets blueprints, schematics and CAD drawings as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.
Selects appropriate raw material and machine processes as required to complete project to specifications
Must be proficient at operating all toolroom machines, such as Knee Mills, 3-5 axis mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, etc.
Uses applied shop math such as Geometry and Trigonometry to determine proper path to take
Modifies machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications.
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to required tolerances on design drawings using precision measuring equipment including but not limited to sine plates, gauge blocks, Cadillac gauge, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators.
Documents actions by reporting labor in the ERP system
Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
Effective communication and people skills to maintain a working relationship with Engineering and Management
