GENERAL FUNCTION

As part of the EssilorLuxottica Payroll Department, the Payroll Supervisor leads and manages the pre-processing payroll activities and performs a variety of duties to support the HR and Payroll functions for associates in North America. This position provides exceptional customer service and problem resolution while maintaining strict confidentiality of information at all times.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the execution and accuracy of US Weekly and Bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour law.

  • Supervise and develop team of payroll professionals.

  • Lead execution of Pre-Processing Payroll activities for payroll, including file preparation and loading, Start Pay execution, Post Payroll Processing, Payroll Tax balancing, and Pre/Post Payroll reporting.

  • Assist with the execution and accuracy of Canadian Bi-weekly and US Weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.

  • Frequently interacts with various departments internally (Benefits, Compensation, HRBP, Legal, Compliance, Store Operations, Accounting and IT) and with external vendors.

  • Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.

  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all payroll and Human Resource policies and procedures including a comprehensive understanding of various PTO, Sick, and Holiday plans to ensure accuracy of accruals and payments.

  • Adheres to applicable state, local and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Supports Manager and Associate self-service to ensure data integrity through ongoing audits.

  • Leads the continuous review of employee payroll data information. Research and correct/adjust discoverable errors.

  • Researches errors and determines need for On Demand checks

  • Addresses inquiries from internal employees, stakeholders, or regulatory agencies regarding payroll issues

  • Sets up standard reports to run automatically for distribution, and creates Ad hoc reports as needed for legal, compliance, tax and other business partners

  • Participates in system testing of upgrade products and conversion

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years payroll experience

  • Previous experience with ADP Global View

  • Previous experience with reporting, data analysis or payroll

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word

  • Leadership, initiative, analytic, investigative and attention to detail skills

  • Trustworthiness with confidential information

  • Positive attitude and a team player

  • Multi-state payroll processing experience

  • Must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.

  • Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, staff, customers, and vendors.

  • Previous experience with reporting, data analysis or auditing required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • CPP certification
