Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in the healthcare and social assistance sector based in Bourne, Massachusetts. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial statements, and executing the financial close procedures on a periodic basis. This role also involves assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, along with ensuring tax regulation compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare financial statements and conduct financial analysis for informed decision making.
• Execute the financial close processes on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning to ensure financial stability.
• Reconcile bank statements and perform variance analysis to identify and rectify discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements to avoid legal issues.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits to ensure transparency and accuracy.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide support to the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Train and mentor entry level accountants, ensuring they are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge.
Requirements
• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is necessary.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry preferred
• Proficiency in account reconciliation is a must-have skill.
• Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation is required.
• Experience in bank reconciliations is necessary.
• Knowledge and experience in managing general ledger is a prerequisite.
• Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience in carrying out month end close activities is needed.
• Familiarity with Blackbaud software is a plus
