Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities Early Intervention Developmental Specialist in Marysville, Ohio

*REMOTE/HYBRID POSITION**

SUMMARY:**

Under direction of the Early Intervention Manager the Early Intervention Specialist provides specialized work in the service provided by the Harold Lewis Center for the Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities (the board). The Early Intervention Specialist is responsible for managing, planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the early intervention services provided by the board. The Early Intervention Lead is responsible for assuring that the services provided or procured for referred children adhere to all regulatory requirements, as well as to board policy, regulations and procedures.

 

The Early Intervention Specialist must strive to meet the UCBDD published Mission Statement and exemplify the UCBDD defined Core Values.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience --

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Developmental Disabilities field, preferably in Early Intervention.

     

Credential/License --

  • Early Intervention Specialist Certificate issued by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.

     

Other --

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver's License if operating a personal vehicle for official agency business.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

 

 

  1. Participates in and directs the intake and assessment of infants and toddlers referred to early intervention.

     

  2. Plans and develops an Individual Family Service Plan in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team and parents based upon identified needs.

     

  3. Plans oversees units of instruction and lesson plans to implement the goals and objectives of the Individual Family Service Plan.

     

  4. Provides service in the location and with duration/frequency specified in the Individual Family Service Plan.

     

  5. Maintenance of Records for each individual assigned to the employee's caseload.

     

  6. Works with families and staff to ensure comprehensive flow of information is shared between the team and families assigned to the employee's caseload.

     

  7. Carries out major assignments in the planning and execution of program related activities as requested.

     

  8. Maintains current knowledge of field related trends and patterns

     

  9. Other duties as assigned.

To successfully perform this job, the following training, knowledge, skills and abilities are required.

 

Required Training: All UCBDD employees shall be required to complete all general mandatory training. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Blood-borne pathogens, emergency communications, hazardous communications, slips/trips/falls, personal protective equipment, sexual harassment, drug free workplace, violence in the workplace, MUI and fire prevention.
  • Must obtain and maintain Board approved behavior support and crisis intervention training.
