This is a learning-intensive program designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience in your field of choice. It’s a full-time, 10-week commitment from May 28, 2025, through August 1, 2025.

What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 28, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.
Internship responsibilities may include:
Collaborate with database teams to build relationships.
Understand the database technologies, platforms and architectures that supports mission critical applications.
Understand the processes and procedures of database administration standards.
Closely work with database administrators to shadow the day to day work, life cycle management, operational support.
Participates in the requirements gathering and designing of new database platforms.
Design, develop and create databases for database technologies like Oracle, NoSQL, Mongo, Redis, PostgreSQL on-premise or on Cloud.
Understand and get hands on experience with all toolings used for database administration - settting up monitoring, backups, security, etc.

Required qualifications
Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2025 - May 2026
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred qualifications
Database administration of various database technologies including Oracle, NoSQL, MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL
Unix/Python shell scripting
Cloud technologies including AWS, Oracle Cloud, Azure
Tooling for specific database verticals like telemetry, security, database protection required to support database administration
Kubernettes
Ability to work in a team environment
Oral and written skills
Organizational skills
Problem solving abilities
Proficient in Software including Adobe, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
