SERVICE FIRST STAFFING Stainless Steel Finisher in MARSHFIELD, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsibilities: Perform precision smoothing, grinding, deburring, and polishing of stainless steel to achieve a range of finishes. Grind and smooth out welded seams and joints, then polish and blend the cosmetic finish on stainless steel. Examine workpieces for defects using proper measuring tools to ensure conformance with specifications. Detect defects such as dents, scratches, or breaks by examining and feeling the surface of the metal. Perform general labor tasks, including light lifting and moving of materials. Assist in the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of equipment as assigned. Understand work requirements by studying work orders, drawings, materials, specifications, and reference planes. Complete assigned work within the given time frame according to specifications. Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools. Verify quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery. Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes. Repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools. File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as metalworking dies and machine parts, to conform to templates, other parts, layouts, or blueprint specifications. Mark defects, such as knotholes, cracks, and splits, for repair. Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools. Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met. Remove completed workpieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place workpieces in containers. Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment. Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: High proficiency in grinding and finishing to very specific and high-quality standards. Experience welding and finishing stainless steel. Ability to use abrasive belts and wheels for grinding and polishing. Strong attention to detail and ability to detect and correct defects.
