Emerson Intelligent Automation Co-Op in Marshalltown, Iowa

Emerson is looking for an Intelligent Automation Co-op for S pring or Fall 2025 to join our Ma rshalltown, IA team . This is an outstanding chance to gain real-world experience in a collaborative environment while working on projects that will truly make a difference. This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment from January 2025-August 2025 or May 2025-December 2025.

With Intelligent Automation we help people solve business problems using software technologies to streamline processes, reduce human effort in repetitive tasks, optimize workflow, and enhance overall productivity and efficiency.

Collaborate with various functional area teams across North America and Latin America to streamline processes and optimize workflows. Contribute to the advancement of reporting tools and process improvements using brand new technology. Contribute to improving overall productivity and efficiency by reducing human effort in repetitive tasks. Assist in solving business problems through the implementation of intelligent software technologies. Apply a broad approach to Intelligent Automation to facilitate transformation within the organization.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Work on project-based assignments in small and large teams to deliver automated processes

  • Design, develop and implement custom solutions for the automation of existing or new processes

  • Ability to implement the full lifecycle of an automation solution: identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and develop, test and deploy automation solutions using Intelligent Automation tools and techniques

  • Leverage Intelligent Automation tools, including but not limited to: Robocorp, Python, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Copilot Studio and Noetix

  • Apply Lean concepts and process improvement methodologies

  • Work with process owners to understand and map out their processes

  • Employ change management techniques as we implement new and improved processes

  • Validations with process owners, and an end-to-end business validation upon completion of development effort

  • Actively participate in team meetings, offering valuable insights and ideas to tackle complex problems

  • Work closely with team to deploy projects into production, complete required documentation including lessons learned and execute knowledge transfer

  • Create training documents and support training events and workshops

  • Provide beginner level training to others

  • Consistently demonstrate a strong passion for learning and growth, remaining open to feedback and new experiences

  • Earn certifications in relevant software and technology platforms to expand your technical prowess, such as Microsoft, Python, Robocorp, and Intelligent Automation

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Business, or IT

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Lifelong learner eager to learn new technologies and techniques to adapt to a rapidly changing landscape

  • Intellectual curiosity and an aptitude for problem-solving

  • Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration mindset

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 products

  • Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Spring (Jan 2025- August 2025) or Fall (May 2025- December 2025) Co-op experience in Marshalltown, IA.
