Maintenance Mechanic

Currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic in the Marseilles, IL area. Hiring immediately.

Shift: Training on 1st shift (up to 1 year depending on the candidate). Opening on 3rd shift.

1st shift (7am-3pm, M-F)

3rd shift (11pm-7am, Sun-Thurs).

Overtime is available but not mandatory.

Job Description:

• Read prints and schematics.

• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic pumps.

• Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment (yard trucks, trailers, large forklifts, overhead cranes, burning equipment, etc.).

• Repair, install, and adjust industrial machinery.

• Work with remote-controlled overhead cranes, welding, diesel engines, and over the road flatbed trailers with DOT requirements.

• Maintain a working knowledge of electrical operations throughout the facility.

• Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components on a routine basis to ensure functionality and code compliance.

• Identify hazards or issues and determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components.

• Create a maintenance or repair plan to solve identified problems.

• Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components to maintain full functioning capacity.

• Review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or equipment functionality for proper service and repairs.

• Assemble and install electrical panels and other electrical equipment.

• Perform periodic and required maintenance and repairs on all company property and equipment as directed by the maintenance supervisor.

• Coordinate with multiple areas of the warehouse and coworkers to complete tasks.

• Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.

• Demonstrate initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks.

• Be an enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude and committed to a workplace culture of respect.

• Ensure dependable and consistent attendance and punctuality.

• May need to work overtime and weekends as assigned, depending on business needs.

• Perform other warehouse or tasks as required due to the absence of a department member or backlog of work.

• Complete special projects as specified by management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or Technical School Degree with appropriate mechanical and electrical skills.

• 1-2 years of general maintenance and repair experience or any equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

• Extensive knowledge of equipment and automotive repair.

Work Environment:

This role involves working outside in various weather conditions including cold, rain, and snow for the majority of the time. Candidates will train on the 1st shift, which can be up to a year depending on the candidate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
