Responsibilities

  • We have an opportunity for a Computer Systems Analyst to work as a member of an energetic and dynamic team supporting advanced program integration and installation within the US Navy’s Strike Planning and Execution Systems line of products.

  • What You'll Do:

  • System administration, installations, training, and customer support. The duties for this position will primarily be performed from the V2X Marlton, NJ Facility and will require periodic CONUS / OCONUS travel. This position will may also require occasional embedded support to US Navy afloat units as a ship rider for periods of 2-4 weeks, which includes bonus pay.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Both as part of a team and independently analyze and break down software function, operation, and administration of the various system components, connections, and applications associated with the Strike Planning and Executions Systems environment.

  • Directly interact with various levels of US Government Program Office personnel, US Navy and US Marine Corps uniformed personnel, and other contractors to obtain required information.

  • Participate in technical document validation/verification and In-Process Reviews, program reviews, technical exchanges, and team meeting.

  • Be involved in the development and collection of performance metrics for monthly reporting and for use in developing/improving the documentation process.

  • Assist with tracking and inventory of government furnished equipment and materials.

  • Act as primary liaison between the government Program Office and Fleet users while providing technical support on site.

  • Provide system-specific administration and maintenance training for users.

  • Assist aircrew with mission planning when using supported programs.

  • Work with cross‑functional teams to compile source data inputs, establish training requirements, and review developed material.

  • Provide cross-platform training and guidance to less experienced team members and team members from co-located programs outside of the mission planning environment.

  • Install and configure system-specific software on all applicable assets.

  • Install, integrate, test and secure site-unique hardware and software applications as approved by the government customer.

  • Create, maintain, and manage system administrator and user accounts for all applicable mission assets.

  • Provide technical recommendations and advice to the government customer in support of defining and prioritizing requirements for system upgrades, replacements, and new solutions.

  • Provide technical support for the preparation and development of documentation for installation, testing, service transition, continuity of operations, disaster response and recovery, and other standard operating procedures.

  • Coordinate with enterprise network, web, database, and information assurance engineers and administrators for all installation, testing, integration, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

  • Monitor, administer, document and report on system security posture in accordance with DoD and local information assurance guidance and policy.

  • Prepare, pre-configure and test deployable equipment packages for remote connection and operation, train users and support personnel on system set-up and operation, and provide remote support to deployed personnel.

  • Support CM and QA practices by adhering to configuration management and change control policies and procedures.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant and emerging technologies as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a relevant technical discipline

  • Allowable Substitution: Experience in support of Department of Defense IT systems, specifically NAVMPS / JMPS, may be substituted in lieu of degree; Department of Defense system administration training and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Certifications/Licenses:

  • Must be able to obtain applicable DoD 8570.01m/8140 IATII certification within three months of start date, such as Security+, CISSP, etc.

  • Experience:

  • At least three (3) years’ experience with the administration of DOD C4ISR systems and networks which includes 24/7/365 help desk support, conducting training, and on-site technical support.

  • Other Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and hold a DOD TOP SECRET (T5) / SCI clearance; an active DoD TOP SECRET (T5) clearance with SCI eligibility is required to be considered for this position.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required as this position will require access to US-Only data systems.

  • Must be able to obtain a US Passport for international travel.

  • Must be able to pass USN medical screening to support working on US Navy vessels at sea.

  • Must be physically able to individually lift/maneuver 50 lbs.

  • Must be physically able to lift/maneuver 100 lbs with the assistance of another capable person.

  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience:

  • Linux Red Hat, Windows Server, Kubernetes certification

  • Current DoD 8570.01m IATII certification such as Security+, CISSP, etc.

  • Previous JMPS user or JMPS SA/DBA experience

  • USMC MOS 6694 (ALIMS) or U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, or U.S. Coast Guard equivalent

  • Prior military service, preferably USN or USMC, in the IT, Intelligence, Cryptological, or Aviation support communities.

  • Prior experience supporting system / network administration in the US Navy CANES and/or NMCI environment.

  • Experience with system administration or operations of military planning systems in the aviation field, specifically with virtual machines.

  • Skills & Technology Used

  • Possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills and maintains the ability to work independently as well as in team setting.

  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques.

  • Candidate must be able to analyze and research software functions using a variety of technical source materials to develop documentation for the end user.

  • Business Partner/Effective Communicator:

  • Must be able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal interactions with US military personnel (uniformed and civilian), teammates, and management teams.

  • Willingness to communicate with systems experts and SMEs to research software functions from a user standpoint, and to follow-up as required.

  • Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability.

  • The ability to work independently with limited guidance yet function as a member of a team.

  • Comfort in switching priorities or tasking and working on multiple tasks as schedules change.
