Galvion Senior Financial Analyst in Marlborough, Massachusetts

THE OPPORTUNTY

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will interact directly with our Production Management and Senior Line of Business Leaders to provide the full suite of financial support and reporting. It is a multi-project and product lines, you will interact with a large ecosystem to monitor all facets of it's execution.

Reporting to the Controller, this individual is responsible for the financial analysis of our Powers and Data Systems, and Advanced Concepts Lines of Business in addition to the production of the financial statements for each line of business. This person will be the prime support for analytics and for financial information. The employee will work with senior management to develop financial metrics that will support business decision making.

Galvion is on the precipice of implementing a new ERP system, and this role will be working through this transition as we continue to execute our business with existing ERPs. Successful candidates have a background in manufacturing and is comfortable working with multiple systems. A self-starter will be able to visualize the end state and work to implement processes to achieve accurate financial reporting.

Core position objectives:

  • Planning – Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Business Partnering with senior management to drive results

  • Develop and enhance reporting distributed to management across the company

Your Responsibilities:

As a member of the finance team, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Track spend for all functions of people and project spend

  • Analyze spend against budget and forecasts

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard prices to actual production costs

  • Monitor the accumulation of all direct labour, overhead and other manufacturing-related expenses

  • Interact with Corporate Accounting team to ensure accuracy of results for monthly closing

  • Interact with corporate for reporting of monthly packages and forecasts to include balance sheet reconciliations,

  • Responsible for month-end close (journal entries, eliminations, intercompany balancing, etc.)

  • Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.

  • Ensure internal controls are respected

  • Assist with year-end audits

  • Develop financial projections

  • Work with senior management to ensure operating results and metrics are helping to drive future decision making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance; MBA preferred

  • 5 -10 years of experience in manufacturing finance

  • Think strategically and anticipate cross-functional, operational, and financial impacts

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Ability to build trusted partnerships with both internal and external parties

  • KPI sensitive, analytical and eager to interpret data analysis or reports

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, and the soft personal skills needed to collect information from a wide network of people in a timely manner with an inquisitive mindset

  • Advanced skills in Excel, comfortable with IT systems. SQL a plus

  • Strong understanding of Financial and Accounting principles

This position is located in our Marlborough facility and requires a mostly on-site presence for optimal business partnership.
