8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities QA Technician- Coop/Intern Position The Quality Assurance Technician- Coop’s main function is to ensure the fast & accurate handling of documents, finished goods and raw material tests to support the quality team in food safety and quality verification and compliance. This person will have a theoritical knowledge of current North American food safety regulations and GFSI requirements. The position may require work with cross-functional teams to ensure that raw material or finished products are inspected and released in a timely manner and that non-conforming product disposition is handled in an efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In Process Quality Checks on production lines: Label accuracy, date codes Daily microbiology sample collection and request forms Daily tracking of microbiology testing Lab testing: aflatoxin, salt analysis Grind size, crunchy analysis, colour, and appearance of products, penetrometer Participate in monitoring food safety ie. monitoring of the CCPs Monitoring ingredients, labels and packaging Record keeping and maintenance of systems, SOPS and procedures Product release Certificate of Analysis ATP and environmental swabbing All positions within Golden Boy Foods Ltd are mandated to adhere to Good Manufacturing (GMP) and uphold food safety standards. Other duties as PROJECTS: Health and Safety Related Maintenance Related SPC Analysis Master Documentation Food Safety Program reviews Maintain a clean & tidy work Targeted Academic Programs: Biotechnology Technologist - Industrial Microbiology Biotechnology Technologist - Industrial Microbiology Fast Track Food Science Technology Food Science Technology - Fast Track
