Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, the Specialist is a passionate, creative, and analytical communications professional. Your Opportunity

Our digital ecosystem plays an important part in employee engagement. We ensure our global community have access to timely, high-quality resources and the information they need to be successful at Stantec. The DCS supports the ongoing evolution of our corporate intranet in alignment with the governance model and support the implementation and ongoing management of email tracking software. The Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations of the intranet and email tracking. They will also be responsible for reporting using our systems data and analytics. This role also supports the broader work of Stantec’s Employee Communications team and will have a critical role in driving employee engagement across our digital channels.

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, independent self-starter, has a flair for data and analytics, and comfortable working cross-functionally and with all levels of seniority within an organization.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, including content development and management, of the intranet and email tracking software

  • Work closely with our Employee Communications team as well as greater Marketing and Public Relations and technology teams

  • Supports digital communications channels to build and maintain the different methods of communication EC uses to promote and distribute stories across Stantec (the intranet, email, Yammer etc.)

  • Produce analytics and reports to guide and support the EC team on tactics, strategies, and communications evaluations

  • Maintain relevant measurement of intranet usage and apply learnings to improve adoption and the user experience

  • Publishes content on the intranet while managing information management records

  • Serve as a member of the larger intrant team for intranet-related queries and support requests from the business to create new intranet pages, sites or communities

  • Provide support to content owners ensuring they have the knowledge and tools required to manage their content while ensuring a consistent approach

  • Support Employee Communications team as needed

  • Support editorial in content development and our editorial and campaign calendars

  • Establish a strong understanding of target audiences and develop strategies that map content across multiple channels to support Employee Communications strategies

  • Keep abreast of trends and advancements in digital and social media marketing as well as emerging technologies and applications

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Creative, strategic thinker

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills

  • Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities

  • Strong project management skills

  • Fundamental understanding of the digital marketing landscape

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to tell brand stories and communicate complex, technical ideas in simple language

  • Proven ability to create content that positively impacts brand and business objectives

  • Proficient with digital marketing systems, with a preference for enterprise systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Marketo, and/or Hootsuite

  • Experience hosting webinars and digital events on commonly used platforms, such as Teams, etc.

  • Proficient with digital marketing analytics platforms, such as Google, Adobe, SEO tools, and others

  • Proven ability to use digital marketing data to inform digital strategy and tactics

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with creative professionals (writers, graphic designers, videographers) in a team environment, as well as to work autonomously

  • Experience presenting content and analytics to teams, including senior leaders

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, public relations, or marketing.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in content marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $70,900/BC Other Areas $66,900 - Lower Mainland $102,800/BC Other Areas $97,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
