Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist’s primary responsibilities are to produce diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures as ordered and assist physicians or radiologists in delivering high-quality patient care.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist model’s adherence to the Hospital’s applicable policies, protocols, practices, and expectations

  • Nuclear Medicine imaging and computer manipulation and processing

  • Camera quality control radiation safety

  • Radioisotope administration and documentation

  • Image processing and labeling

  • Scheduling of procedures

  • Use of office computers, filing system, phone and paging systems

  • Transporting of patients

What qualifications you will need:

  • Must have satisfactorily completed a two-year training program in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent North Carolina state license

  • Must be certified through the ARRT

  • New hires or transfers to a different modality must achieve certification within six months of that assignment

  • Must maintain current CPR certification

  • Venipuncture certification

  • Must be current with continuing education requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of teamwork
