Mount Carmel CoGen, Inc. Heavy Equipment Operator in Marion Heights, Pennsylvania
Job Functions
Essential Functions
- Must have 2 years' experience in the operation of heavy equipment - Front End Loaders & Haul Trucks.
- Duties will include loading materials into fuel hoppers or trucks for transport. Will need to move materials to various fuel or ash storage piles, using assigned equipment.
- Will be required to ensure vehicles are working properly, request necessary repairs. Must keep vehicles clean.
- Perform all cleanup and housekeeping functions on a daily basis inside and around the fuel and ash system buildings.
- Completion of Daily Equipment Safety Inspection logs.
- Complete all MSHA training as required by law.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as Greasing and Oil Changes or additions.
Other Functions
- Must work rotational shiftwork, normally 12 hours shift per day.
- Holiday, weekend, overtime, and night shift work will be required.
- Required to have a telephone, must respond to call ins as needed.
- Assist in other work on an as-needed-basis as requested by management.
- Acts as a team member with all employees of Mt Carmel Cogen staff displaying a positive attitude, professional and courteous behavior.
Essential Physical Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment, accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges (must have eyesight corrected to 20/40), and communicate clearly on portable radios.
- Ability to respond to plant emergencies.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug testing.
- Valid driver's license required.
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma and 2 years of work related experience.
Working Environment
- This job involves a working environment of 70% indoors and 30% outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
